What would you like to do on Christmas Day that you know you won't be? I would like to go for a nice post-lunch walk along a beach (preferably Southerndown).

Spend it with Mr Cake.
I'm very lucky, I'll be spending Christmas day exactly how I want to. Me, Mr P, the kids and my mum eating steak, chips and onion rings for tea, opening presents and eating sweeties.

At the risk of bringing your thread down, Sher, I just wish my Dad was still with us.

Oh, and that I don't have to play monopoly with Mr P...

Is Mr Cake working? 2sp - Christmas Day will be fab here, just us lot doing what we want. Just fancying a walk along a beach!
2sp, that sounds like a wonderful Christmas day.

Mr Cake has and will be away for a few months......upside is a tidy house!
When will he be back, Eccles?
I would like to be on beach in a warm sunny climate, with plenty of mohitos on tap, fresh fish and fresh fruit, and fresh George Clooney. In no particular order.
Curl up by a turf fire, in Ireland with someone nice.......just for the day. ;-)
April, if all goes well.

I love winter walks on the beach, that would be a wonderful way of whiling away Christmas afternoon, Sherrard!
Once Christmas and New Year are out of the way, April will come round in no time, Eccles.

Not fancy doing one of those mad Christmas/New Year dips in the sea then, Sher?

2sp - no bloody chance, just love Southerdown beach and it would be a fab way of blowing away all the over-excitement of the last couple of weeks. The little people are going to be mental for the next week or so.

Eccles, that's a long time but Christmas is only one day, with Iplayer and stuff you can probably 'avoid' it altogether.
I am also going to enjoy Christmas Day the way I love to. I will be going to Mum and Dad's on Christmas Eve, I will wake up at daft-o'clock, get everyone up, open pressies, Mum and I will make breakfast, go for a long walk in the woods and then make a start on Christmas dinner. 25 of us get round the dinner table at 2 and we stay there until the wee hours, playing games, eating, chatting, drinking and more eating! It's how it has always been for me and I can't imagine doing anything else. I think I would like to try Christmas in the sun at least once though.
I'm not bothered about being on my own at Christmas, I have lots of personal indulgence planned. It's just that if I had a choice I'd like to spend it with Mr Grumpy, at least that way I would have someone to wait on me :-)
I'd love to be in a fancy hotel being spoiled, but home with my man and the pusstats will do just fine. :)
That shall remain confidential, those who know can guess probably pretty accurately!

Sit nice and cosy with Mrs Owd.
Shall be walking on a beach. Nothing exotic. Frinton-on -sea (and you can't get much less exotic than that!) Do that every year on Christmas Day. Don't really know why on Christmas Day. Just something I got into the habit of doing, same as I always go to Geneva for the day in the week before.
I wish the same for you and Mrs, Owd. x
I would do what I did a couple of years ago..............go on a boat trip around St Lucia.
To hell with Mr Cake, sailing round St Lucia sounds like much more fun, although may be include a few more islands for interest.....
