Inspired by the 2012 Olympics, London transport chiefs created a special version of their underground railway map by replacing stations with the names of sporting greats but they left out one of the most famous of all.

While present-day athletes like Usain Bolt were well represented among the 361 names, Fanny Blankers-Koen was missing.
Known as the 'Flying Housewife' because she had two children, the Dutch runner became the first female to win four golds in a single Olympics at the 1948 London Games.

Is there no end to the stupidity of these "games"?

be fair - thousands of prominent olympians, and only 361 stations to represent them with. of course some were bound to be omitted.

though, their solution to this conundrum is interesting - make mary decker and zola budd share the same station!
Never heard of her.
so did they name Golder's Green, that hot bed of London Judaism, Gal Fridman, after Israel's first gold medallist in windsurfing?
nope - golder's green is represented by Karl Malone.
which bit is stupid? the map, or the fact they missed out 1 athlete from over 50 years ago?
