Help please, stuck on last two. 53a Daring centre to put up with danger:r?s?? 46d Grenadier ordering guy to keep shells spaced out: ?r?g?? - I thought perhaps groggy, or druggy, but I can't convince myself that either of them is correct.

i got risky too BJ, but i cannot parse ?
Groggy
Centre of daring IR + SKY to send soaring
Should be RI not IR
central two letters of daring, plus sky - as I used to do to the ball in my centre half days.
46 First and last letters of Grenadier &c

Thanks everyone for your help.
Thanks for the risky explanation. : )
But surely the second one is something to do with guard and guy with the letters au removed for reasons i cannot see. druggy seems more appropriate ?
mike111 had it right
Grenadier ordering guy
g r o g g y.
No, the shells are the first and last letters of each word: GrenadieR OrderinG GuY
is oggy a guy ?
couldn't understand what mike was saying as it looks like he hit the enter button a bit too soon. : )
Thank you. : )
On my copy of my explanation, the letters were spaced to be directly below their counterparts in the full words. Odd.
Maybe on the top line each character took up more space than the blanks below .
cheers BJ. answerbank does that for some reason. tried to explain something similar myself. and it came out like that did. you both got there in the end (the penny has now dropped) thanks again : )
shooty/mike11111, let's if either of these works:
Grenadier ordering guy
g-------r o------g g-y OR
Grenadier ordering guy
g*******r o*******g g*y
Nope!
