Did you wear a shell suit in the '80s? I had to wear one as I was working in health and fitness at the time and it was the uniform for winter.

Hell yeah, I had an awesome shell suit. But then I was only a kid in the 80s.

I stopped wearing it on bonfire night though. I'd seen something saying you shouldn't wear one near flames and when I got home from school my mum had laid it out on the bed for me to put of for the fireworks display. I was terrified and cried most the night. Lol.

No, I was in a children's home and even if i'd wanted one they would not have had any funds to buy one. All our clothes were bought with a voucher book from C&A, shoes from Clarks and undies from a shop called the 3 sisters (or something like that).
No, I didn't but my son who was born in 1983 had them!! - Poor child (but it was the norm at the time. I did have track suits though and thinking back they were dreadful. Oh dear.
Nah, fink I was a bit too old?
Urggh! Wash your mouth out! ;o)
I don't think your age mattered pusskin. I remember all ages and all sorts of sizes wearing them - usually in bright colours!!
I've never worn a shell suit and I've never worn a velour leisure suit in the Juicy Couture style.....the temptation to wear them outdoors and then be labelled a chav was too much to face.
OMG evian i was exact same i remember being told in nursery at bonfire night my shellsuit would melt to my skin an i was cacking it!!!!

I think mines was a fetching green! With reebok hi-tops and i was only 3 or 4 lol xx
No shell suits but I did have a few pairs of Adidas poppers :-)
They werent my thing lottie, like you I prefered track suits. very comfy x
Ha ha Tinks, there must have been a campaign or something that had everyone under the age of 10 papping themselves.
I didn't wear my track suits to go out in. They were inside relaxation. Have never had one of those velour leisure suits!!!
I had some trackie bottoms and a American Baseball type sweat top!! My son (who was aged about 8 I think) was totally disgusted. Not surprised really.
no

they look like a static shock epicentre
There were quite a few nasty cases of kids being burnt badly because of shell suits.
About 89 yes, it was white with flashes of purple and pink.I only wore it for playing tennis in though.
They did make people rather 'visible' to say the least!!
