This new law to allow girl royals equal rights to the throne?

Sex equality? LOL, LOL, LOL

The only purpose of that law is to make sure that Harry never takes the throne.

But we'd like King Harry, wouldn't we?

He'd be jolly.

Why don't we support Harry, and rebel against the new law.

How does this law stop Harry taking the throne?
Question Author
Oh, sorry.

You remember David Cameron specifically mentioned that the new law would enable a daughter of Will and Kaate to become Queen?

Under the current law, if Will and Kate only have girl(s), if or when Will dies, isn't Harry, as male heir, next in line?
i dont get it either - if wills dosent want the throne, or abdicates, there is no sister to take over
Worrying about the royals keeps me awake at night zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Surely the only chance Harry has of getting his tush in that seat is if Will and Kate never have kids anyway isn't it?

I don't know.

Doesn't Harry have priority over a daughter of William?

No! Any daughters of William have precedence over Harry and his heirs.
Not until the Act goes through Parliament, the Lords and is signed off by Betty.
Oh hang on yeah. I think I remember now. If W&K have a son, he is the next in line but if they have a daughter she is pushed to the back of the queue and Harry stays next in line. Is that right?

Oh I duno. I think Harry would make Buckingham Palace an open house and throw a party.

LOL red ... and "ouch!"

=0)

I bought my friend's daughter a fab new LaX stick as part of her Chrissy pressie.
Look at the current list of precedence http://en.wikipedia.o...to_the_British_throne where Princess Beatrice (5th in line) and Princess Eugenie (6th) are above Prince Edward (7th).

Evian ... yes, I was wondering about daughters being bumped to the back of the queue.
No the line after Charles is William, Williams sons and with no male heirs, girls and then Harry (and his mob when he has legitimate heirs).

The proposal is to revert this to Charles, William, and then his children by age, and then Harry (and his mob if he eventually marries and breeds).
As the law presently stands, if the first child of W&K is a girl and the second is a son, the son will take precedence..........even though he is younger.

The new law will mean that the first-born child will become monarch, regardless of what happens afterwards.
Currently the gender thing only applies vertically. So any children of Wiliam will already take precedence over Harry anyway, be they boys or girls. For example, Prince Andrew's daughters have precedence over Prince Edward (or whatever Dukes they are these days). The only way Harry can ever ascend the throne is if William doesn't have any children. The new law won't alter that.

What the new law means is simply that if William has a daughter first, she will be next in line and will never be superseded by an older brother.

So there's no chance of having a King Harry ??

That's sad.
"never be superseded by an older brother. "

a younger brother, that is :-)
"So there's no chance of having a King Harry ?? "

There is a chance - if William has no children or dies, or decides he can't be a**ed being king.
or names his son Harold and I guess, in theory, you could have a Queen Harri(et)
