Last weekend there were 4 joint-leaders in the MM Game, but only one who had never set the links before. As a result, 'JobJockey' was elevated to royal status and asked to do the honours for December. After some initial hesitancy, he has agreed (at least for the time being) to tease you all with some links of his own devising.

If my tutoring has been successful, then he should be posting the introduction in Q&P at 8:45 tomorrow morning and then at 9am exactly (give ot take a minute or two) he will post his challenge words. Does his name tell you everything you need to know about our new setter? Or is that just a facade to hide behind? Who knows? In any case, there are bonus points available but they favour the early player, so be there promptly, ready for the start.

On a matter more important to the running of this game, I am trying to judge what will be in the best interest of players over the holiday period?
At present I am 75% inclined to cancel the game over Christmas weekend and 25% inclined to do the same for the New Year. This could be either a 3, 4 or 5 week month. I have yet to be informed of 'His Highness's availability but I could score and report on both Sundays, but a little later than usual on the 25th. (I expect to be back home around 7pm).
What is the general feeling amongst players? Are many of you liable to miss either festive game? Please let me know below and I'll tell you here next weekend what my decision is.

Shrubbery? What is the Shrubbery? someone asked. Well, this thread is 'The Shrubbery', a quiet place out the back where players can assemble without interference from the wife/husband/partner in order to socialise and plan for the future. The rules are simple:
Dont disturb the neighbours with LOUD music.
Don't eat any of Sarumite's mushrooms - they are not what they seem!
Do take home all your empty bottles.
So make the most of it before 'the boss' gets back from her quiznight

As usual, I ask that you should also look out for the international version of this same game which is called KM Links and usually kicks off in Q&P at 7am. The timing of your posting in this game is deemed to be irrelevant ~ only the number of hits you are able to register. The regular organiser of KM Links game is 'seekeerz from Australia (wjich is how she can manace such an 'early' start.

However, “Why not chance your arm at both Link Games?” You have nothing to lose. Both games remain open for most of the weekend and all entries are scored and entered on to master scoreboards to trace progress through each monthly contest.

Until we meet again, may I wish you ~ “Happy Linking”!

I'll be available for Christmas and New Year weekends, Gen2, but am happy to go along with the general feeling. I enjoy the Linking Moments, but I suppose it would give me more time to puzzle out the rest of the Hotpot clues...(currently up to 86 + one (first) half).

Tearinghair, Re. my quiz, One of our Club members claims to have completed it but since he hasn't handed it in yet, I don't know if they are all correct.

He also tells me that one of my flowers could also be a flower! If you are totting up your answers and come across this, I have counted it as flora in my own totals (75/25).
Thanks Gen2, yes I had got a question-mark beside one that I thought you were using to trap us with (on the third page)!
Well here I am in the shrubbery and there is no one around. Perhaps they all know I have got the lurgy (very sore throat, headache, shivery). I am fed up with lying on the settee all day, dozing on and off so thought i would pop in for a chat. Have bought a bottle of Baileys too .......oh well will go and check on Scrabble games and come back here later.

Sorry to hear you are poorly Evsajo.
My mother always used to swear by a mixture of honey and lemon-juice in such circumstances but I haven't taken it for years.
Question Author
Yes Tearinghair, that is the one.
Gen, I will be in Devon for Christmas but will have my laptop with me so should be able to do the links, but I will go with the majority as I haven't been doing them every week.
I endorse the honey and lemon (or orange) remedy, but would add hot water and a small slug of brandy or whisky (not malt, of course, that would be sacrilege).
Got the lemon and honey but got no whisky anyway !! i usually have blackcurrant in it too.
Good evening all...sorry to hear about your malaise Kay, I wholeheartedly agree with the hot toddy remedy, although I always omit both the honey and lemon but add an extra tot or two, or more, of Scotch!!

Gen2 I'll be here both weekends but I'll go along with the general consensus.
Honey and lemon is all very well, but I think the Baileys has the edge every time ...
Question Author
that's almost worth getting sick for !! evening all, I'm back and hopefully for good but saying nothing yet, just quietly hoping
Fingers crossed, seekerz!

The proof of the pudding will be in the eating Seekeerz.
too true, gen2
Sorry all...I have been out.
Eldest daughter was in a show and It was Reg's works 'do'. So I had to do the honours.
I will be here both weekends at Christmas and New Year also.
No shrubbery for me last night - a crippling dose of Manflu!

Gen2, I shall be off the air on Christmas Eve, Sat 24th, but happy to accept your decision. (Could be dead by then, anyway!)
