For the penultimate time, this is “The Count” (aka middlestump) bidding “Good Morning” to all MM Linkers. To the English amongst you, I should also wish you a ‘happy’ (if that is the appropriate word) St. George’s Day.

I am not particularly nationalistic, as Steff (aka seekeerz) could testify after some of my comments about international cricket. However, I did have a spell as a cub scout. That, together with the fact that this saint’s day is three days before my birthday have made it impossible for me to forget the ‘significance’ of April 23rd.

I’m not normally bothered by my age. An exception to this was when I turned 30 and developed this strong feeling that I was no longer ‘young’. This year, my innings extends to “60 not out” and I have to admit to beginning to feel a little bit bothered by this latest coming of age. I’m not yet at the stage which Bob Hope described when he said, “I don’t feel old. I don’t feel anything until noon. Then it’s time for my nap.”

Nor do I feel that the words of George Burns, “I'm very pleased to be here. Let's face it, at my age I'm very pleased to be anywhere” quite apply to me yet.

However, I shall be consoled by the poet Edgar Guest:
“Old Age is rather curious, or so it seems to me.
I know old men at forty and young men at seventy-three.”

I have every intention of continuing to age disgracefully – a sentiment that I detect in most of my fellow MM Linkers

According to normal practice, for the everyday running of MM, I will follow the usual rule on word length as introduced by crofter. Each of my pre-selected link words contains at least four letters and at most eight letters. Stray outside this range and you will be wasting one of your attempts! Each of my selected link words may go in front or behind my challenge word! The competition will officially close on Sunday Evening at 7.00pm, when crofter will declare my pre-selected words and then apply the same rules for awarding points that have been applied during all MM Link Games in the past.

My fourth set of four words to have their links predicted should appear below at 9.00 am.

Good luck everyone!
Thank you, seekeerz, from a beautiful day in Hampshire. Mrs Strix is off to Badminton HT and no doubt will return with some views from some of the competitors on the XC tomorrow (it is the first of the qualifiers for the Olympics next year).
