Dear All,

I hope you are well.

We are hoping to put together a complete directory of all crosswords, puzzles and quizzes which The AnswerBank users participate in.

We wondered if you could help our list along, if you could let us know the paper you receive and the names of the crosswords in it we'd very very grateful. We have started a list, but this doesn't include any of the local quizzes or papers. Submit your below and we'll add it to the list.

We hope this directory will be helpful for new quizzers as well as those looking for some fresh print!

If you wish to submit an annual quiz run in your area, let us know where it is being run, when it usually runs and any other relevant information.

We have, so far:

Daily Papers:

The Daily Mail
The Times
The Telegraph
The Independent
The Express
The Guardian
The Financial Time

Weekend Papers:

The Mail on Sunday
The Sunday Times
The Observer
The Financial Times Weekend
The Sunday Express

Magazines:

The Spectator
New Statesman
Private Eye

We know this is less than exhaustive, but with your help we'll get there!

All the best,

Spare Ed

Thanks SquareBear and Alba.

Zacs, we want to have a directory page of all the crosswords. Eventually we might do difficulty ratings and so on.

but:

"put each newspaper title in Q&P?" isn't actually a bad idea at all. What do you think?

Spare Ed
You've got to be kidding? It wil make it a HUGE section. People already post things in the wrong places and we only have one main and two subsections.

Don't do it Ed.

TLS-times literary supplement
bbc history magazine
national trust/history today xwords
You already have a crosswords subtopic and people usually can't be bothered to post in there, putting them into Q&P instead, so having separate sections for the different papers is unlikely to work, good idea though it is. Unless...

...you can enforce a subtopic selection when a question is posted (such as having a non-optional drop-down menu like the one used for posting questions from the home page).
Can't see that working. We already get history questions in adverts, motoring questions in food & drink and so on.
Not sure where if anywhere this is going ???

Weeky
Catholic Herald

Monthly
Saga
Upper Womblington Train Enthusiasts Weekly should be included
The Daily Prophet
The Quibbler
The Sunday Post
Magazine section should include Prospect - its Generalist general knowledge crossword is frequently discussed.
Sheffield STAR Prize Crossword every Saturday
CANDIS Magazine

Okay! see Zacs, told you it would be a bad idea!

Being able to filter by crossword will be helpful for search (although we won't do categories as such)

Also, those who wish to start a new crossword will have a list to contemplate.

We also like to know what you get upto! Crossword wise that is!

All the best,

Spare Ed
