12d "I'm resolute, pursuing religious end in travel" I have p*l*d*m. (not too sure about the final m. I think the link word is "gymnnasium" but I can't work out the "nasium" part.)

12d Pilgrim - re "Pilgrim's Progress", in which Christian is "resolute"

21a Gymnasium (school) - Gym's (extended, sounds like 'Jim's')

17a Cur - the letters sound like "See you are"
Hi LiK
Do you think the wordplay in 12d is GRIM (resolute) following (pursuing) PI (religious) and L (end in traveL), making it an excellent &lit clue?
Hi to you Dave! Very good point - I stopped thinking after remembering Christian!

Hope you're keeping well? Don't know what I'm doing up this late! To cap it all, my shiny new b'band is once again playing up - I'm off to my pit...

Apologies to stevenj for the extra traffic :-)

Very many thanks (and for the correction:I had "cad", not "cur" but see how I went wrong!). Thanks not only for the answer but the explanation. It really is a good clue, isn't it?
You are very kind. Now I can rest. As so often with me it was the last clue which is SO annoying!
