Rinkins - My choice to break up with him but only cus he was horrible 70% of the time - if only he was nice. It's been a year and a half since we split and I have been ok not given him much thought until yesterday and today. Doesn't help that I have seen him a lot lately as he goes to visit his sister who lives next door to my dad and as I have been round dads a lot lately doing painting have bumped into him and we spoke and he invited me round for cuppa and I really always wanted us to be friends but don't think we can as I'm sure he won't have changed his bad ways and don't know if I can get past issues without him respecting my feelings.

I'm just a bit lonely - if I had a life with lots of friends that I really can be myself around and stuff then I don't think I would be considering seeing him. It's like I need a quick fix of being with someone who I am familiar/having the companionship/joking around with even if he can also be pretty horrible.

Oh angel, you must remember how he was to you. I doubt he'll have changed. It will surely be too painful for you to be friends. Shame you bump into him. I wouldn't like that. You will never be able to forget him, he's part of your past. Leave it there. And even though there were good times, there were bad times too and that's why you left him.

I think your brain is thinking you want to be with him, but it's not that, it's because you want SOMEONE. It is hard being single sometimes, when you think "I fancy going out for dinner" or "going to the pictures" we wouldn't want to go on our own would we. It's the companionship we miss.
