This is my first attempt at a Listener Crossword and I am two clues off filling the grid (before looking for the thematic words)!

29d One has trouble coming up with parts of hip bones (4) O*I*
Working from HIp BOnes I can get OBIH but the various spellings in Chambers 2003 only include OBI and OBEAH(?)

34a What makes elders, perhaps rigid? Agreeing with neither side (6) *I*NON
If 29d is OBIH, then 34a starts with B and I can only fit BIGNON (?)

Furthermore, I seem to have SIX cells with a (0/I) conflict (marking the "points") and I was expecting only FIVE.
Is anyone else facing the same dilemma?

You've spotted the 'dilemma', which involves a choice between which of the two letters concerned actually goes into the grid. 29d is ilia...i = one and trouble = ail (reverse that for coming up = lia, giving ilia = parts of hip-bones (see under ilium.)
34a is lignin (see under lignum). Elders are trees as well as old people. Same choices apply here as above, of course!
