Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Just seen the light with this one. The points to be set are all very logical in the end. (After last weeks travails I think I made hard work of this one looking for 'elements' that were not there providing me with a splendid 'doh !' moment when I realised what was staring me in the face.) A very enjoyable offering from Ploy though which didn't have me pulling my hair out for hours on end trying to solve the clues.

Many thanks to all who have tried to help me understand. I think I've got the five elements and have researched the relevant name on Google but despite (or perhaps because of) my A level Maths from long ago I can't get my brain round the necessary logic. I am always amazed at the skill of the setters and sometimes surprised by the knowledge required of solvers(as in this case).

jamesah, if you look up the five elements in chambers, it will explain the clashes. PS Ive got no qualifications at all
