If somebody bought your baby (12 months) a T shirt carrying a band or singer YOU the parent do not like, would you dress the child up in that shirt in public?

I have found an Aladdin Sane baby T shirt which of course is neither embarrassing or offensive but the parents are not fans at all of the great man.

Will I be wasting my money?

Thank you.

You could just ask them?

But baby presents are as much a surprise for parents, no?
Hmmm, maybe for some. Personally, if I'm in doubt about buying something for my nephew, I just ask. Are the parents ones for 'slogan' T's anyway?

I don't wear T's that have slogans or homage to bands, so my friends would know I'd never dress my child in one either.

It's all about indoctrinating the baby in to decent music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bless his little cotton socks. If the parents had their way, the little one will grow up thinking Whitney Houston and Genesis are the norm!!!!
LOL, considering you're not a 'baby' fan, then hearing you say "bless his cotton sock" is quite a shock. I think I need some smelling salts :o)

Get the T shirt for him, if nothing else, the parents will most likely be polite enough to have him wear it when you're going to be around.
id imagine that seen as you are buying for their baby that you are close so yes id buy the tshirt then just make the joke that you just did about making sure the baby gets into decent music.
I remembr you asking this question about a year ago Wardy, you forget or something? The consensus then was a resounding no, don't do it, then as well.
You wouldn't be wasting your money - mum's are always grateful for clean, soft rags for mopping up babies.
I wouldn't bother Wardy - they'll either only put it on the baby when you come to visit and he won't be in it long.
If you bought it for me, well, I'd use it to dust, sorry :)

I don't think I'll bother.

Blimney Booster Girl. The one you are referring to was a BEACH BOYS T shirt to for Christmas 2006!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And yes I did buy it, and yes the bairn never probably wore it.

Is your memory a blessing or hinderance?

Damn you steggy. You have spotted me!!!!
Aladdin Sane is likely to be more acceptable than a t-shirt with the original artwork from "Diamond Dogs".....

Only 150 were pressed in 1974 showing the huge canine phallus.

Worth about 3000 nowadays and a true Holy Grail amongst Bowiephiles.

Sadly, I do not have one.

(An original LP, not a huge canine phallus that is!)
My brother is forever saying he going to buy little CRX a west ham kit. Not a hope in me putting it on him!!!

But a friend bought a vest for baby CRX with lyrics on and she will wear that http://www.mothercare.com/gp/product/B0012PUC0 K/sr=1-10/qid=1220100915/ref=sr_1_10/203-47357 17-2738357?ie=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=50362031 &mcb=core

so its really going to be down the parents likes and dislikes.
