When looking at any paperwork and it states something like 'until the 12th Oct' does that mean including 12th or up to the 12th. Im prompted to ask this now as i have been given a doctors certificate from an employee which details 12th, so should he have gone back to dr on fri?(if not returning to work) this is something i never am sure about and its something that crops up from time time for various reasons. i hope someon can help me out!

No - if it said something like "He is signed off from 1st till 12th Oct" for example, that would include the 12th and he'd be due back on his next usual day of work

Similarly, if I booked aholiday from 1st to 7th October, it would be all of those days
