Hell no!!!

Love is (for me) about knowing all the crap about someone and loving them anyway. It's always easy to love the good stuff. So personally speaking I have to get the to know the person which you can't do when you walk in to a room and first lay eyes on each other. I've never been attracted to someone I haven't spoken to or had some sort of introduction to.

That said, I do think you can find someone incredibly attractive and the feelings can be so intense it might feel like love for a time when in fact it's just a brief infatuation. I believe that more than I'm ready to believe love at first sight.

However, I am kind of known on here as not being quite the romantic type and I do know that other ABers have said they fell in love with their partners at first sight so perhaps I'm not the best person to comment, I can only go on my own experiences and perceptions. So that being the case... Love at first sight is as likely as Santa Claus and the Easter bunny going on a picnic in Narnia...
Certainly I first saw my second wife at my wedding to my first and it was enough for me to momentrily scramble to think how I could get out of it before I actually pulled myself together and got married. It was years before we did get together but for me I knew instantly she was something special. Obviously it took time for us to get to know each other but that just strengthened everything, so yes I think you have an inkling when the right person turns up, but "love" might be too strong a word.
Are we ever going to agree 100% on anything Nox? ;0)

Actually Louisa, I do think Nox has a point... the bit about being able to tell when someone is special, (whether it's as a friend or lover) but I still think it takes more than a look... but I could just be really, really cynical.... I know, I know, it's hard to believe that I could be cynical but there you go ;0)
Hmmm, i dont know about love at first sight, but certainly lust at first sight. The love part comes afterwards, when he has got to know you a little more. Obviously he isnt gonna tell you his feelings straight away until he is sure...
I sort of believe it. Lust at first sight but sometimes there is something else which cant be explained
Hmmm... Just to throw another idea in here.... (And all romantics, please don't pitch fork me for it but)... Could it not just be chemical? You know, all that stuff about pheremones and our evoluionary nack for spotting potential mates who'd be child bearing or good for survival etc? Could that be the something special from Nox and the something you can't explain from Ummmm? Just a thought.

<Makes mental note... must attempt to find soul for 2007, perhaps it's in the freezer where I left my heart >
Hmmm. actually thinking of it now, i have some strange attraction (not chemical) towards Ummmm. never really met her, but its just a feeling i get from reading her posts, and a picture i paint in my head of her. But this is niether lust or love, so what is it?
Pixel mania.... ;0P
Whats the picture Mr Ben. Just curious!
Hmmm, well you can stay curious Ummmm :)
I am not one for publicity.
Its a nice picture though...
good
I fall for most of the stunning women i meet, but there are no sparks.
when i met my partner everthing fell into place and we got married within a year and life is still good, bar ups and downs.
I dont believe in love at first sight, to me that takes a little while. You got to live with them first.
Yes for me its I WANT AT FIRST SIGHT.

my husband tells me it was love at first sight and he knew he was going to marry me -20 yrs later, been married for 17 and still madly in love with each other.
