It has taken me ages to work out 21 ac but a manager is a supervisor. Most or perm is "per". Convert this with "n" for new, and end up with sun visor = shade

Thank you so much for your detailed answer to 21ac ulysses100 - I think this Xword has got very devious over the last few weeks with difficult clues (at least that is my excuse for sometimes not even completing it!) I shall struggle on with this one
