simply yes and any living male ones should have their goolies removed.
^ as should the owners
But I see rspca and Barry gardiner think not
No I don't think they should be banned but I think they should be better controls in place
Why would anyone want a dog like that ...so many other breeds available
I have known a few and in the right hands they are loving and caring dogs.
But like any animal you have to know how to handle them.
Ask yourself what sort of people want to "own" them.

There's plenty of supposedly vicious dog breeds around.

Yes but most other breeds are loving and caring and less risk of savaging people....we know why certain types of people want these and its not as a lovely loving caring pet
Did you bother to read the link Bob.

Those loving seeing eye, companion dogs called a Labrador are on the list as dangerous.

It's the owners that are the worry.
All dogs not given the right care and attention can be savage!
That is why there should be tighter controls on who owns and cares for dogs in general
Control the owners, maybe ban them from breeding ;-/
If you check you see I posted same time as you so hadn't seen it.
But I have read it now and don't agree with it.
It's the combination of dog breed and owner that's the problem...and vast majority of the types who pick the bullyxs are people who want one for a reason that's not the same as someone who wants a lab or retriever or spaniel
Righto... a selection test/ interview, references, maybe dbs check training course and proficiency exam before you can have a dog and then regular performance reviews???
So its the owners that are the problem?
It's the combination of dog and owner....and this dog attracts tge wrong type of owner....so easier to ban the breeds. Why do we need the breed here
ahhh sarcasm always good to see in a debate!
So let's look at how your controls idea would work Helen...can you clarify so I might see your point?

Whilst it's true that some owners are irresponsible, dogs do possess distinct characteristics according to breed. Our Border Collie was never trained to herd sheep but he displayed all the characteristics and talents of one that had. I do believe that, regardless of owner, these dogs are innately aggressive.
Aggressive or protective?

I've known many dogs that appear on the dangerous list that were loving and gentle, until their family members were at risk.

Aggresive.
