Why is this site so cliquey - who decides who fits in and who to blank?

Is it? I've never really taken much notice.
What makes you think that it is cliquey?
Is it? I don't find that, but, I never really have done. Most are adults here, and I would be surprised if anyone was "ignored". There do seem to be a few, who react to "who" posts, rather than "what".
Apparently, according to other threads on this subject, private messages, texts, phone calls etc. abound. One only has to upset someone once and they start to group together, lol.

Just carry on posting, bakerwales and get what you can from this site ;)
LOL....
Simples...it isnot as cliquey as it once was,it is only CB that is cliquey and that is because CB is mainly a female section.
Once you have a predominance of women then cliques are formed.
Sqad - I agree but then again Men can be just as bad. You only have to look out of my kitchen window and see the men from the street gathering and chatting over their gates, and it is always the same ones. If anyone else tries to join in the little huddles disappears.
i sometimes find it hard to follow a post when people use proper names instead of avatar names
Hmmm. Seems bakerwales has decided to leave us.
Babakins I agree, but as I said, this site is predominantly female and this certainly applies to Chatterbank.
Oh :-/. I can't see anything on CB which caused that.
They're pobably talking about on-line cliques.
Did someone upset her?
You should have been here in the old days, Baker, before there were moderators about! My first 17 posts in Chatterbank were totally ignored by others posting on those threads, with my 18th post eventually getting a response. That told me, in a string of four-letter words and other obscenities, that I should eff off out of Chatterbank and only post in AB's 'serious' sections. I'm still here though, while they're all long since gone ;-)

I suppose that CB can, at time, appear a bit 'cliquey' but that's only because some members know each other so well. For example, it tends to be the same regular group of members who post on the 'Good Morning Early Birds' thread each morning. That doesn't mean that it's a 'closed shop' though. Just like joining a social club, or getting to know people in your local pub, you just need to say 'Hello' and gradually work your way into the group.
Maybe?
Hmmm. Seems bakerwales has decided to leave us.

Yes, at the same time babakins joined us.
Well said Chris, whoever you are...

don't let him in folks... ;-)
Hmmm.

All I can see is that Bakerwales posted on Pasta's cat thread and didn't get a response from her (which was probably no more than an oversight on Pasta's part anyway). BW clearly doesn't like being ignored!
What does that mean Jackdaw?? I joined as someone at work suggested it was a good site to ask answers to crosswords.
Irrespective of whether you're a brand new member, Babakins, or simply a 'recycled' one . . . WELCOME!
There are cliques on AB, it does not bother me as I have no allegiances on AB and don't know anyone personally off site ( FB & social media).

The humorous part is if you Pee one of them off then the others all bang on in after them like lemmings off a cliff. As if they have no brain or opinions of their own.

Childish considering the median age on AB lol!
