Which one's Tonyav? ;-)
He'll be hiding in the bushes until the girls have finished the work.
Well it'd not be the redhead, LiK. Tony's had a bit of bother with redheads I seem to recall... ;-)

No point inventing something "so simple even a girl can do it" and then not letting them have a go ...
Living dangerously Dave ;-)
Oh dear, Dave....have you forgotten the daughter looks in now and again?..... :-)
The scooter is Lambretta Li Series 1. You can distinguish it from the earlier Ld model by the slope of the engine cover under the seats. The Li had a smooth slope (as seen) whereas the Ld had a "stepped" slope which went down abruptly under the rear seat. You can distinguish the Li Series 1 from the Series 2 by the headlamp. The series 1 has the lamp fixed to the front horn casting as shown; the Series 2 had the lamp mounted in the middle of the handlebars so that it rotated as the scooter was steered.

I had an Ld which I used in a "stripped down" form (i.e. most of the bodywork removed). That broke down beyond economical repair (it ran out of petrol). I then progressed to an Li Series 2 before buying my final Lambretta, an SX200, which some bar steward nicked.

An Ld or Li in a good state of restoration will now cost you around £6k. A good SX200 will set you back £10k. Mine cost me £182 (19s .6d IIRC).brand new.

I never took a tent on mine.
a lot of years ago, i was part of a large group that visited the dales for a walking trip, a group that included two unattached girls; Vanessa, very decorative, and her more practical friend Jill. after their tent was up, Vanessa said "I've never put a tent up before", to which Jill cut straight back "you haven't put a tent up this time either".......
What a waste of money. No kitchen sink for the girls to be chained to ?
It was in the days when not all girls were chained to the kitchen sink, Anne (or at least when there was not a faction that persuaded everybody else to think that they were).
Brilliant, Chris! I guess there was a trailer for my Guinness?.. :-)
Dave, no room on mine for that tent contraption and my tank Arial

And the gals did so well with erecting it Ohhhh Matron. gness my heart skipped a beat when I saw Julie Alexander riding pillion, she is the spitting image ( Ahhhhhgggg ).
Those memories eh, Tony..... :-))
Yes, gness. It's all coming back to me now !
My mates and I went backpacking round Europe.

When we crossed the channel we got to a campsite near Ostend.

Three of us were all for going straight to the bar, but nervous John insisted we get the tents set up first so he knew where he was going to sleep.

It's a good thing he did. They served the Belgian beer in narrow glasses that we joked were thimbles. After sinking a few we realised why the glasses were so small.

We were lucky to find the tents again, and wouldn't have been capable of putting one up.

Camping trips ( in your youth ) were always good fun, Hopkirk ;-)
Chris, how did you get my photo!!
Phew!

For a moment then, I thought that you were going to ask me how I'd nicked your car's starter motor, Caran!

;-)
You wouldn't catch me camping any more. No way.
