I've just been reading Zeffirelli's obituary - one interesting quote of his which caught my eye was:-

"Women represent the warmth of life - they're frail and vulnerable. They only become unpleasant when they feel the need to create a defence, and they exaggerate. That's why they become divas."

There will be a back line along shortly.
A full and rewarding life, RIP Franco.
I'll never forget going to watch his Romeo and Juliet, I cried on the bus all the way home.
Not the most progressive of men regarding his opinion of women but he was 96 so that's to be expected.
A sad loss, RIP Franco.
I remember falling head over heels in love with Olivia Hussey when i saw his Romeo and Juliet in the very early 70s. Thought Leonard Whiting a real wimp. That may, of course, have just been jealousy.
RIP Franco
he doesn't explain why they feel the need to create a defence, but perhaps #metoo would have explained to him how vulnerable people are treated.
