I recently went into the Leicester branch of Debenhams. I wanted the restaurant, but couldn't find it on the sign showing what was on each floor. I asked a member of staff and they told me it had been re-named 'The Kitchen' at enormous expense quite recently. Seems a strange things to call a restaurant? No wonder they have money problems.

Well, you'd hardly call it "The Bathroom" ;-)
maybe why the share price is falling? Helly can you remember Fenwicks closed down?
But not The Kitchen either Canary42. The Kitchen/Diner maybe or even the Dining Room. But the Kitchen!?! Dreadful.
Fenwicks - they still have 9 of them.....

Is there a Debby's list yet? Think ours is under the gun as I haven't been able to get my CD Farenheit deo for some months, the staff saying openly, they won't let us stock because of cashflow......
It intrigues me that anybody should think that renaming an establishment from a "restaurant" (correct) to a "kitchen" (incorrect) is likely to be endorsed by the company's senior managers or directors. It intrigues me even more that those managers or directors do so.
