Thanks. Can anyone please parse?
1. Macs (scots) reversed

Thanks Danny, now what about MITE or MOTE?
Mite is a small amount. Mote is defined as a speck, but I can't parse either, sorry.
I thought maybe a carper is a nitpicker, so he spots a mite.
Is 'carper' correct?
Mote is also defined as a tiny error so would it not fit better than mite.
If carper should be carpet then mite would be better (carpet mite)
Question Author
Carper is printed in the paper
Just found a long discussion on err, another crossword site and they can't make their collective minds up either. :(((
Davy on the off chance that the setter has made an error with carper/carpet I would go with mite.In any case either should be acceptable.
