Well did anyone have any issues after the storm yesterday?
We lost 2 trees and several roof tiles and a load of lead flashing!
Landlady on the ball and the roofers are out already putting scaffolding up in prep for tomorrow to fix the issues.
They have also cut up trees ready for me to store the logs for drying for the fires - what brilliant service is that?

What storm ?
I live in West Yorkshire, about 250 feet above sea level, so not exactly in an exposed position. We heard the wind blowing strongly in the night, but neither we nor any neighbours had any damage. It looks as if we were lucky.
only branches down here, nothing substantial....one big leaf fire going, three more to go (or two and run the lawn mower over the grass). 2/3rds of the leaves down is what I am estimating.......

Oohhh! Blooming predictive text!
Quite frightening!

Lol Patsy you made me laugh with the right wing comment given that I am often told how much of a leftie I am so you have BA!
Made me laugh too. I had to go back and reread Islay's OP.

No damage down here. We were expecting strong winds, but much happened.
^^ NOT much happened...

Lol Clover I love typos - I have made a few crackers just ask fat Alba!!
I seem to have an awful lot of sand all over my car....car wash tomorrow, methinks !

We've got a few more leaves in the garden than we had yesterday and another reddish-pink sky again tonight.
Several trees fell on my sister's school, vindicating the decision to close all schools.

Yes ichk a load of my friends had them home again today - and lots of little issues, in Belfast today there was debris from building sites lying around too.
I often have sand all over my car, living by the sea, but this weekend there was nothing. Quite odd really.
Thanks Islay. I felt such a fool! Oh well, it did some good I suppose getting BA!. :-)
leaves blown down onto my lawn. I blame Michael Fish.
I liked the Fat Alba typo. It still makes me chuckle :) sorry, alba. I know you're not fat.

Mortified Clover but its a good job that Alba knew there was no malice intended!
Some areas here still have no electricity, I was lucky I never had any electric faults, only 4 sacks of leaves at my door, well, they weren't in sacks until I went out and put them in sacks, spent this afternoon burning them. what a day, I hope to never go through a day like that again. It's good you have a great landlady, I met a lady earlier when i went out, she lost a few tiles from her roof, but love nor money could she find a person to fix the roof for her - be a few weeks she was told, everyone's booked up. I hope she gets sorted. I'm just glad it's over and everyone i know is safe and well, including you Islay :)
