Bless her but it's funny...
It's nice, don't know what the problem is. They are both figments of somebodies imagination.

I have a big Virgin Mary statue in my living room, she has a baseball cap on.

A proud atheist. x

That just shows the pointlessness of religion. Fancy, praying to a plaster cast!
Oh blimey lol!
Lovely story but we all know prayers get forwarded if they go the wrong address.
I am sure that god thought it was funny too.

Well he is the patron saint of lost things ...
Aww lol ;0)
Yes because praying to a figure of Elrond, an elf from The Lord of the Rings makes no sense, whereas praying to a figurine of Saint Anthony make absolute perfect sense.

I wonder if at any time she thought, "Well, what's going on? Why isn't he answering my prayers?"
A Great grandmother Talbot, a different generation.
Whilst being a non-believer I can see the point of using an image to focus a prayer, if she thought it a saint then it performed that function for her.
^ Quite donny.
I suppose she just got into the hobbit.
I totally agree, Donny.
The kindest thing to do would be to have left her to it and said nothing.
True Eddie, or just replaced it.
well I suppose there is a correlation if the 'Return of the King' is about the ressurection?
that's the thing about Christianity, images like this are purely representational - reminders, so to speak. Pagan religions often fetishise the object itself - that is, it is actually the god, not merely an image. So from a Christian point of view, no problem here.
