I woke up this morning to find a small, quite sore (as if a bruise) lump under the left side of my chin, inside the jaw, about 2 inches back. Slight dilation under there.

Thinking that it maybe a blocked lymph gland, probably saliva?

Is there anything I should take/do - or wait the weekend out to see it abates and then go to the Docs for antibiotic?

Had a dental inspection last Monday and was given a clean bill of oral health, gums etc and all.

Many thanks in advance for your learned consideration......

I had that happen to me and it was a stone in my saliva gland. Face puffed up on that side when I ate especially anything sharp like lemon juice.. It eventually worked its way out into my mouth but Son-in-law had to have his cut out .
Happened to me too. At one time it would occur regularly but now once or twice a year.

Thanks you two - I have had the gall bladder out and suffered from kidney stones (those are agony until they pass)....just surprised how sudden it has been. Nothing when I went to bed and then wham, bingo, this morning!
you are welcome. suck something sharp and see if it affects it. No doubt sqad will also advise you.
I agree with patysan.....it sounds like a stone in your sub-mandibular gland (salivary gland)

Watch and wait........it may "pop out" of it's own accord or it my "stick) and you may need to have it removed.

Give it a week or so..........antibiotics are completely unnecessary at this stage.
