Dear old sqad, I'm taking 800mg aciclovir x5 daily plus topical cream for shingles. How much paracetamol and / or ibuprofen can I take to dull the pain without exploding my innards? TIA

LOL......Ibuprofen 600mgms (3*200mgms) every six hours if necessary.

Thanks - I've been taking 400 mg, explains the limited effect.
Is paracetamol as good? I have some 500 mg in, just saves a trip to the shops.

If you need to take Paracetamol then take 1000mgms at a time for the pain.

Yes, Paracetamol is probably as good as ibuprofen.
