Watching something on TV and there is a sniper with a finger missing who is wearing gloves - didn't get to see his hands properly - but what do people do in this situation re the gloves. Cut the empty glove finger off, Sellotape it up - not particularly earth shattering, just wondered.

Cut the finger off or spare would dangle in the finger buffet.

If selfconscious ..
you could have a false finger attached inside the glove and use it for pointing.

Elastic band it to the neighbouring finger (maybe not as could lose that finger if blood supply cut off).

To blend in..
Would mitttens be good ? (would only have to cut half the finger off)

I don't know! I did say I was just curious. The man on TV was a sniper, a dangling, empty glove finger would surely hamper his effectiveness. (Also don't know how many on AB are snipers either) :)

all he needs is a good shoulder, a good eye and an index finger, he won't be shooting with full hand (i'm no sniper either, just guessing)

Umm, where I worked there was a man who often had accidents where he lost finger ends, whole fingers and half fingers. When he lost a thumb he was investigated. The reason was 'No one has that many accidents' He made thousands of pounds in compo claims. Eventually taken to court and sacked. Not that I'm suggesting that was the case with your Uncle. I was amazed that he did this for money. There are many strange people about.

No, he certainly didn't do it for money. One accident was from a pipe (something to do with groundworks) They were carrying the pipe and they backed up and it caught his finger against the wall.

Not sure what happened to the other one. I'll ask next time I see him...
