I'm on the final leg (I think!)
Can anyone confirm that when one fills the "coloured" square, the crossing clue becomes a non-word (if you see what I mean!)
Also I need help with:
53across Festive food table enthralls very large Eurppean (8) CH_RT
and
43down Unfasten knot once rid of holes (7) _NIT
Thanks in advance

53 is CHAROSET - I am still missing 43 and also 30 if you have that.
I make 30 manille
and 43 unpinkt. Notice they contain the colours anil and pink respectively. Hope this helps.

Now to find my daughter's old felt tips!(she's 24 but they must be somewhere!)
Thanks for you help, hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!
Hi Everyone. I have the theme and most of the colours but I need 17d, 32d, 48a and 24a to finish. Any tips please?
MERRY CHRISTMAS and thanks for all the help you've given m this year!
I got most of this done - I no longer have the paper, but if you gave the clues, I might be able to help.
Thank you Neveracrossword. As soon as I posted my question I actually solved 32d and 44a, but am still stuck on the other two. 17d is "outdated society match" (5) and 24a is "Return to examine sound flat" (4) - PL?P. I considered STEAM for 17d but don't have any idea why!
I had 'steam' - all I could think of was 's' for society' and 'team' for 'match' (I was thinking of co-ordinating clothes, for example, not a football match. I didn''t really like it as an answer, but I couldn't get anything else.)
For the other one, I had 'plap' - it's 'palp'(short for 'palpate') backwards. I've seen that used before to mean examine.
Sorry I've had nothing definitive to give you!
Thank you Nacw! I have 2 other answers that sort of work but I need to confirm (or otherwise). I have RAPE for 38a and PA(r)ING for 39d. I'm just trying to tidy up!
I don't remember 'rape' or 'paring'! I think that second one might have been 'coring'.
