Husband mauled by a wild animal

I need advice asap, my husband was walking the dog earlier when he said he heard a whimpering coming from a hole in the ground as if a small animal was hurt so he shined his torch down the hole and couldn't see anything, he then put his arm down the hole and was viciously attacked. His dog was trying to get at the animal whilst he was being attacked which then made the animal run up my husbands arm and onto his face and head where it further mauled him until he fell and the animal escaped chased by the dog.

My husband doesn't know what the animal was as it was dark and he dropped his torch in the commotion but said it was small, furry with sharp teeth and claws and cat sized.

The nearest hospital's on the mainland 15 miles away and the sea's rough today so we can't take the boatso we'll have to go to the doctor who comes in by boat every morning at 10am so i've cleaned his wounds with soap and water and am about to dress them and want to know whether it would be better to use vinegar or lemon juice or bicarb to disinfect his wounds as that's all we have until we do our months shopping on monday.

Which is the best to use?

I beg your pardon? That's neither funny nor helpful.

Thanks woofgang i've already washed his wounds some of which are quite deep and alarming but want to disinfect them properly before bandaging him up.
I am serious - I was with Mt Rescue when I was young - most sterile liquid when yopu have no disinfectant around is urine (fresh that is). An apology please.
I'd use warm hogwash
Coat him with honey, honey.

Dtcrosswordfan i am certainly not urinating on my husbands wound as we are neither on a mountain nor are his wounds life threatening to the point only urine will save him.

As i said earlier i have bicarb, white malt vinegar and lemon juice. I also have bleach and cleaning products but guess the chemicals would burn him and may cause a worse wound?
DT, Whilst I don't doubt you, I would love to hear Sqads take on your answer.
pig or human, doesn't matter..........well I guess if you are Muslim or Orthodox Jewish it may count, but, no joke, urine is a disinfectant.
Actually when I was stung by a jellyfish on holiday that's what the lifeguard told me to do..
Yeah...put salt and lemon on his wounds.
DT is correct....up a mountain or not. :-)
don't waste the gin - drink it and kill the pain.
Even a farmer's wife stranded on an island know not to use bleach on the flesh.
Even a farmer stranded on an island knows not to stick his arm in a hole!
Bicarb, vinegar and lemon juice all have antiseptic properties so one's as good as another. He would probably scream less with the bicarb than the lemon juice.
You don't leave it on the body, Jeza, but in extreme emergencies, that is what is recommended. It's not first choice but if there is absolutely nothing else.....
