Feel a bit sorry for my son

My eldest son (11) has come home from school today with a letter telling him all about a school trip he's going on. It details the rare spoon collection and huge postcard collection, along with loads of other really boring stuff that they will be seeing and how lucky they are that they are being allowed to see all this wonderful stuff. He really doesn't want to go (especially as the trip leaves at 7.30) and looks really miserable. My biggest problem is that I have got to keep my gob shut that he is actually going to Drayton Manor for the day (don't want to spoil it for him but he looks really p***ed off about!).

Tell him they have one of Britains finest seaside card collection as to smutty cards.....he will be fine.
LOL - how agonising for you! But no fear someone will let on in the playground tomorrow and he won't be feeling miserable for much longer.
hi sher, are the teaching staff actually pretending to the children that they are going somewhere else ?
Hi Sherr.. you have to, he's going to have a brilliant day...and the suprise will be well worth it x
I like the sound of the boring stuff, what type of stuff is featured in the spoon collection?
Oh Dear cazzz :o)

Hi all (sorry, I was eating my tea). All the parents are sworn to secrecy (lots of covert texts from the school, etc). I have taken some old spoons that we have out of the drawer and oohed and aahed over them and my husband has been going on about how interesting it is going to be (just makes the poor little sod look even more miserable).
"mummy I don't feel well" will the first thing that he says on the morning of the trip.

We went to Edinburgh Zoo and Castle when I was in primary 7 - the castle was boring!
Edinburgh castle boring??!! All that history..!
He'll have a great time - tell him not to forget to send you a postcard.
lol Cazzz, hardly thrilling though for a 7 year old huh?
I would have loved that when I was 7, I used to analyze street cobbles at that age
oh right....errrmmmm....
I think we'd have got on rather well as youngsters, cazzz........
I'd have had one of my famous tummy aches.
I hate to admit it - I also found a visit to Edinburgh Castle boring :-(
It looks much better from the outside.

When he came out of school, the first thing he said was 'well I'm not going!'.
I was a fairly odd child :)
Just told Mr Boo this Sherr, it appealed to his (and mine) sadistic nature. Mind you, we're the parents who bought an iron for our then 15 year old for Christmas, so perhaps we aren't the bests judges!

Hope he has a fantastic day :-)
