I've got all the grid filled in, but, I have no idea about the 21 squares to highlight!
I'm sure it's nothing to do with Alice, Dylan Thomas or the Bible! - any hints would be appreciated!

well [for a change] i actually know this latin phrase - art history lectures to do with gombrich and/or malevich if memory serves. -so [for a change] i do actually feel a bit clever - thank you ripper! .......mind you, it was a all very long time ago.....
....'a all' would be better the other way round though [what is it that goes before a fall again?]

I've scoured my prase books, looked up Gombrich & Malevich and I'm still none the wiser!

Suggest you look for the Latin phrase in a philosophical concept used most famously by John Locke.
