With freedom of speech, comes a responsibility not to incite racial hatred.

A hateful man, who the tolerant and peaceful Dutch will hopefully consign to history.
Question Author
But then, in that short time, you haven't read the speech have you?
Khandro, thanks for posting.

A long speech, but I will try and dissect later!

(Mikey has focused on the man of course not the merit of any content!)
Khandro

Are you referring to this:

I am standing here on behalf of millions of Dutch citizens.
I do not speak just on behalf of myself.
My voice is the voice of many
//So, do not forget that, when you judge me, you are not just passing judgment on a single man, but on millions of men and women in the Netherlands. You are judging millions of people. People who agree with me. People who will not understand a conviction. People who want their country back, who are sick and tired of not being listened to, who cherish freedom of expression.
Members of the court, you are passing judgment on the future of the Netherlands. And I tell you: if you convict me, you will convict half of the Netherlands.//

Or this maybe?
Question Author
I can only assume that mikey would not object to having a few thousand illiterate, lawless Moroccan youths, robbing and raping their way around Swansea.
//A worldwide movement is emerging that puts an end to the politically correct doctrines of the elites and the media that are subordinate to them.
That has been proven by Brexit.
That has been proven by the US elections.
That is about to be proven in Austria and Italy.
That will be proven next year in France, Germany, and The Netherlands.
The course of things is about to take a different turn. Citizens no longer tolerate it.
And I tell you, the battle of the elite against the people will be won by the people. Here, too, you will not be able to stop this, but rather accelerate it. We will win, the Dutch people will win, and it will be remembered well who was on the right side of history.
Common sense will prevail over politically correct arrogance. Because everywhere in the West, we are witnessing the same phenomenon.
The voice of freedom cannot be imprisoned; it rings like a bell. Everywhere, ever more people are saying what they think. They do not want to lose their land, they do not want to lose their freedom.
They demand politicians who take them seriously, who listen to them, who speak on their behalf. It is a genuine democratic revolt. The wind of change and renewal blows everywhere. Including here, in the Netherlands.//

Or This?

So that we can put this into context - what statement did he make which lead to the trial?

By the way - your post at 11:09 is a bit of a leap.
Ah right - that statement.

Thanks Togo.

I think there is some truth in it - but as to whether this will be a permanent sea-change, I'm not sure.
Have you read the address to the court sp? The main accusation being that Wilders wants less Moroccans in Holland?
Togo

Sorry no - I'm at work, so don't have the time. Will give it a look tonight.
To clarify - the closing statement is very long...

Could you summarise?
Yes sp. Some of us read 1984 and took it on board as a warning, others read it and adopted it as a template.
The question, was the statement that was said by Mr Geert correct?
Khandro....whatever excuse you make, Wilders is still a racist.

Why are you giving the oxygen of publicity to racists ?
Good statement by Mr Wilders and an important test.
His answer was correct though Mikey. Khandro I mean, would the Vally put up with it?
Question Author
mikey //Khandro....whatever excuse you make, Wilders is still a racist.//

If you took the trouble to listen what the man says, instead of making a judgement without even reading his statement, you would know that he points out, quite correctly, that 'Maroccan' isn't a race, so he cannot be a 'racist' by saying on behalf of his country, that they want no more of them.
//Khandro....whatever excuse you make, Wilders is still a racist.

Why are you giving the oxygen of publicity to racists ? //

Mikey you display the typical knee jerk reaction once again. Point out to us all where Khandro is making an "excuse" for Wilders. Then you round it off with an inflammatory accusation of publicising racism. Khandro has posted a link giving Wilder's summing up to a court, at his own trial. Will all news outlets who publish or discuss this summing up become ,in your opinion racist by default?
Khandro....pull the other one. Wilders is a racist, no matter how you and he dresses it up as otherwise. Mussolini may have made the trains run on time but he was still a Fascist.
