I passed my test a few days. Yay!!!! :-)

I have tried to get quotes for car insurance and it's coming up at £1100, and that's 3rd party too.

I'm a 26 year old female and was told it would be cheaper cos of my age etc.. I know i only just passed, but still thought it'd be cheaper ;-$ I'm trying to get it on a Citroen Saxo 1.1 SX

My friend was 21 when she passed and she has said she has only ever paid £40 a month 3rd party (not on anyone else's insurance)

Any suggestions or is this the best i can do and is it what i'm going to pay? Any suggestions on who to go with that's cheaper appreciated :-)

Ta very much xx

Go compare...Go compare!
I pay more than £40 a month, and I have 25 years no claims!

Think she's having me on then :-)

I have tried Go Compare and that's the cheapest.. If that's the cheapest, i will pay it, but didn't want to miss out on a good deal..
seriously, £40 per month at 21? No way Jose!
That's because you have a lairy car, Sara !

I'm so glad I don't have a car.
you're paying a lot, sara3 - I pay Directline about £300 a year after 30 years no claims. (Peugeot 306, but less than 5000 miles a year.)
My insurance is just over £300, fully comp for me and OH. I'm also insured to drive any car 3rd party.
I have the same car as jno..
jno, I do quite a lot of mileage and my car comes under the sports category, even though I don't think it should :o/

I have shopped around and can't get it cheaper, although I've added in most of the extras, courtesy car, etc.
oh well, I'm not in the same league as your Boxster, sara3
it's not a Porsche, lol!

and it's getting on (unlike myself, ahem!), almost 8 years old now.
I guess yellownana's problem is being a newbie without a no claims record. Ordinarily, a 26-year-old driving a Saxo shouldn't be paying that much.
i am with directline fully comp and passed my test last year i pay £300 a year!
do you smoke also?
