It's when they stick their leg out as you're leaving the voting station and try with devious cunning to get you to say how you voted, so they can start to try to guess who's won. S*d off, I say, my vote is my business.
It's a poll taken of people as they come out (Exit) of the polling stations
A collation of results taken from people as they exit the polling station.

A big problem that is people lie.

Yes, boxtops summed it up better. I'm sceptical as to their reliability- since many people either refuse to say or say what they think the poller wants to hear.
When you leave the polling station, you may get pounced upon (not literally!) by someone with a clipboard who will ask you which way you voted. They note your answer, collate and produce "statistics" !!

I've never heard "collation" being used in that context Ed - I only know of "a cold collation" for a posh picnic perhaps. Hmm!
