I am a southerner and hear and use it.

It is not really derogatory, just means a stupid woman.

oh tah! is it an older thing?
no not necessarily, any age can be a bint
but saying that, calling that russian thing a bint is being over polite, what would you call someone on here who posted a link to pics of dead aborted babies? hun maybe?
From the Arabic for "girl" or "daughter", just as bin means "son" as in Osama bin Laden.

btw "stupid" is derogatory.

yes kempie it is, that is why i likened the stupid russian bint to other stuoid people, but the kind of stupod that bint is is beyind any stupodity they would put on you tube

I believe the term was brought back to Blighty by troops who served in North Africa, but I'm not sure. In English it is derogatory.
I call my daughter a dozy bint when she locks herself out or forgets to bring something i asked her to pick up for me, she calls me a dozy bint when I try to park between two parked cars and can't, but it is a term on endearment, but when i cll the russian a dozy bint i meaN IT IN THE MOST DEROGATARY way, but then again i am not convinced it is female, though apparently a bint can be male too.
My addendum was intended for W-M (T_D).
when i was young, a bint was any young lady who was available to be chatted up, dont hear it used much nowdays,
I always thought 'bint' was the past superlative intransitive form of 'bitten'. For example: " I was bint by the neighbor's goat".

I've been called this many a time by a certain someone.
As kempie and jno says, its Arabic, I served in Aden and soon picked up certain phrases using it.
Its a bit like calling a bird a "boiler"
It's wqord used by most squaddies to describe a lady of easy virtue, or , easy meat

thank-you. i dont think i'll be using it though:-)
Queen Farida was a shufti bint.
'Shufti' means to look or observe. 'Shufti bint' would mean 'look at that female'. Used in the army as 'Have a shufti at my new watch', for example.
