Once again T. Blair tells us what the 'Overwhelming Majority' of Muslims think. Since he can't possibly know do you think this is the same sort of thinking that makes him a 'Convinced' christian. That is he can believe anything if he wants to enough.

Blair is a fool grabbing at straws. I do believe his intentions were good once but unfortunatly he obviously compromised himself along the way and is now paying the price for not doing the right thing. The only thing keeping him out of jail and alive is keeping his gob shut about certain things. He is still doing what his bosses tell him to do and say, don't worry, he will be gone soon and another idiot will be in his place and we can start all over again.
He's the most politically correct of the PC brigade so what would you expect?
He's allowed a fifth column to take root and grow in our midst, and he excuses them for their anti British venom.
Moderate muslims? Doesn't he read the Pew polls? Out of 1.6m muslims, approx 12% to 15% agreed with the 7/7 bombings in London, and about half again would actively use violence against us. That's a huge number of muslims who hate us in our midst. Now TB is trying to understand them, play up to them, and try to moderate them with his foolish words.
Somebody go and buy him a copy of, "Londonistan," by Melanie Philips.
You can't say they hate us in here, they will scrub your post, you have got to be a looney lefty, lilly livered fool in this place for your ideas to be taken seriously. I know they hate us as do most people, i can't wait for it to kick off so we can sort this problem out once and for all and the yellow bellys better not look to me to protect them, as far as i am concerned the muslims they can use the dogooders as target practice.

This Melanie Phillips, Theland? Is she the same rabidly pro-Israel Melanie Phillips who to this day maintains that MMR is unsafe, that there's no such thing as global warming and believes in the World's Most Discredited 'Theory', Intelligent Design?

Because on that basis, I wouldn't believe her if she told me I was bald, let alone believe her views on 'Londonistan'.
Is this question to provoke a response that answers

1) On whether T Blair is able to access information that is representative of a social group be it religious, gender based, results of a mori poll, and therefore with some legitimacy air the views - my answer is yes.

2) To have a debate on whether Muslim's support or not terrorism- has been widely debated on AB before - is there any likelihood of any new arguments put forward? Answer to this both is no.

The day after the 2 Towers Blair opined that the vast majority of Muslims were against the Terrorist action.
Where did he get his Mori poll from then, friend ?

Sorry brionon I haven't been able to understand your last question - is it something about our PM having difficulty getting mori poll answers?

I agree with you Mani but would add anyone with a bit of common sense rather than hysteria. you don't even have to know the community that well, yes there are religious differences which could be argued are part of a culture, but end of day we are all human and the majority will have on the whole the same wishes, desires and aspirations. To have family, friends, be safe, have freedom to worship a god, football team, rock band or latest shoes or whatever you think is really really important. Human response to perceived threat is fight or flight. Really useful to be able to run away or physically defend self and others when sabre tooth tiger after you. Our ability to fight no longer a civilised response but one still very much present for some people!

Leila You know what I meant -You are the one who raised the Mori Poll,I'm saying he couldn't have had access to one the day after the 2 towers. Try to be honest.
I'd be interested to know what Melanie Philips said in her book that was factually incorrect.

melanie phillips must be an ABer or at least there is an mel phil fan club on this web site. Some of the posters here must be guilty of plagiarism given that same old same old keeps getting churned out without any original thought or reference. maxxiumus on another link provides a really scary web site.
brionon. reading leilapups post, there wasn't a claim that mori polls were used following the attack, just a point, I thought that politicians particularly leaders of party's are given access to wide ranging information. do you think he, his advisers or the Muslim council make up the views provided?
Er, hang on... let's take the statistics Theland quoted:

"Out of 1.6m muslims, approx 12% to 15% agreed with the 7/7 bombings in London, and about half again would actively use violence against us."

So, even taking the higher figure, and adding half again, that's only 22.5%. That leaves 77.5% who don't agree wih the bombings and don't want to use violence against "us" (whoever "us" may be). That's a pretty overwhelming majority, isn't it? Especially considering that Blair himself is leading a government that had just 35.2% of the popular vote!
jenstar - you are spot on.The point i was making however, was that this MINORITY of muslims, represent a huge number of people that I would be wary of with good reason. It's an awful lot of people.
-- answer removed --
So a figure of 22.5% who do agree with the bombings and do want to use violence against 'us', is acceptable, is it jenstar? Theland is right. That's an awful lot of people.
