Anyone heard of the saying: less than brick temperature, i.e. We are not going to turn on the central heating until the temp is, etc.

when we moved into our house it had been empty for a while and my girlfriends dad said "it wont warm up in here till the bricks have heated". apparently the bricks absorbe and store alot of the heat.
