Cipralex often causes nausea (feeling sick) and diarrhoea.  It doesnt usually cause vomiting but could do.  I don't think the burning on your tongue is due to the depression - perhaps from vomiting? Don't stop taking these meds without speaking to your doctor or you may get worse side effects and the depression will return very quickly.  The side effects normally improve after a couple of weeks.

You should have a chat with the person who prescribed your medicine if the symptoms dont improve soon.

Hi Clincal. What dose are you on?

Side effects vary from person to person and generally settle down quite quickly. If you are uncomfortable with the way the meds are making you feel, or are at all worried, go back and see your doctor. Maybe you need to start on a lower dose. Although Ciptalex is effective against anxiety, anxious fellings csan increase when you first take them.

Does your doctor know you are taking Clonazepam? this medication has side effects similar to the ones you describe and cipralex may highten these effects. Please go straight back to your doctor for advice.

Clincal, As you may know Cipralex is an SSRI. Cipralex,Citalopram etc create an extra surge of adrenylin for at least 10 days after 1st starting on them thus causing more anxiety and agitation. If you've been vomiting with diarreah (SP) It may well be an adverse reaction to Cipralex. Please go back to your GP and get off this ssri before you become addicted. Take Vitamin B12 - will help the burning on your tongue if taken regularly.
