Come on in! Nungate Towers is open for another meeting of AB's Mad Over Fifties! With Queenie and Best Beloved away in Cardiff it's been a struggle to get things organised for tonight's meeting.
As we have another lovely summmer evening, we'll be having most of tonight's meeting out of doors, the fountains are throwing up huge jets of water, all over the gardens the fairy lights will be lighting our evening, the maze is open (a guide is available) there are rowing boats down at the lake, and a marquee is set up on the east lawn, where we have a delicious buffet all set up. Tonight the Tailcock will be the Lost Kitty, named in honour of Queenie's little ginger cat Henry who has been wandering around the Towers like, well, a lost cat! His companion Max is in the cattery (don't ask) and he is missing his human Mummie and I just won't do, despite me putting the grand prix on the tv so he could look for her in the crowd .... (after Barca played of course) For those who wish to remain indoors the hot tub is bubbling away and the mini bar stocked, the minstrels will be on hand to play their usual madrigals and toccattas, and of course all the usual amenities are available to be enjoyed by our members. Our favourite local band The Tone Deafs will be playing in the marquee, and we also have as a special treat, a string quartet playing Mozart's greatest hits in the grotto, (follow the path by the lake, and on past the old oak tree carry on and it's on your left just by the path leading to the beach)
Sadly Queenie had some bad news during the grand prix as her favourite rider came off in a nasty collision and had to be taken to hospital with a suspected broken collar bone - I'm sure she'll get over it, as will he!
So come on down everybody and have a lovely evening!
A warm welcome awaits all who dare enter here

Carriages at midnight.

I've seen a spoonful of cornflour sprinkled over the apples to make the juices into a bit of a sauce Mammar, then of course maybe she added a bit of spice, cinnamon maybe?
Has anyone else got "The Voice" on in the background and writing to the Beeb for a refund of their tv licence?
Perhaps you should be more circumspect with your phraseology DT.
We are noyt all without knowledge of the Dutch.
Question Author
No, been watching the Les Dawson thing on ITV I don't like these "talent" shows much
Nope, Nungate, just a copious amount of Silver Spoon granulated, as far as I am aware. Spices? herbs? Mum didn't hold with that foreign stuff. If it didn't grow in her garden, we didn't have it.
Noyt - is that Dutch? - lol! xx
Well I know what a 'Dutch Cap' is, does that count ?.
Thought I'd just tune in to see what all the fuss was about. I stayed watching it for a while cos I couldn't believe how bad it was, convinced it couldn't get any worse. But it did.

Excuse my typo.
I've set the timer for the Fairy lights madame. Is there anything else?

Oh, Sir Tony, Queenie said to tell you that the goats are well and thriving. Do you still want them kept here until Madam Minty returns from France?
Tone, I've relented. As Minty isn't here I figure you need cheering up so you can have me last Kit Kat finger.
I'm off to see what's on the puddin' trolley. All that talk about apple pies has made me hungry

Can't have a bubblebath Lady J the dressing can't be immersed! The nurse told me it was showerproof but no swimming in the bathtub! Darn this is getting much better, now only visiting the nurse twice a week instead of thrice.

I may have been in the kitchen or something earlier, it's the fending for myself and three cats that I'm struggling with! (Max is a bit too wild and headstrong for me to cope with on my own with the other three, so he's gone to his favourite cattery, just ten minutes away)
Igor, would you be as so kind to tell Queenie yes please.

And thanks Mammar, I love Kit Kats.
Oo profiteroles! How do you have the time, Nungate? And sherry trifle. And lemon cheesecake. I shall have to do "eeny, meeny, miny, mo"
