Yes, especially since April 1999. That was when the Mars Climate Orbiter spacecraft's outing turned into a disaster because one group of rocket scientists involved in its construction had used Imperial measures whilst another had used metric!

As there has been no similar disaster in brain surgery, perhaps we should go back to saying: "You don't need to be a brain surgeon to understand this" rather than: "You don't need to be a rocket scientist."

Yes. Much like the phrase "It goes without saying" or "Needless to say", both of which are pretty self-explanatory.
And the best thing since sliced bread
And if I hear one more person say "absolutely" I will scream!!
I hate the phrase "And he turnt (a)round and said..." I have visions of a whirling dervish, careering out of control as he/she conducts a conversation, collapsing in a heap, at the end of it all....
"Dammit Smithers it's not rocket science it's brain surgery!"

Best use of this phrase, ever.
absolutely, shaneystar
i agree with QmunkE, that is absoloutely the best phrase since sliced bread, well it is from the simpsons so goes without saying really
Exactly.  (As that's what people seem to be saying to me a lot lately).  (Is 'exactly'  the new 'absolutely'? I suppose it will be said 'on a daily basis' soon.)
Asolutely !
It will probably be said at exactly" at this moment in time "or "at end of the day".
Probably Iain Dowie's after today's Premiership results.
