No point giving tips. People will say stay calm etc etc....but that'll make no difference on the day. Just try to appear really confident. When turning right at a junction don't sit and wait for the car two miles away to pass before you pull out.

I passed first time....
Don't do your test in an automatic, then when approaching a roundabout hit the wrong pedal and jump forward into the side of a police car. You will fail i'm afraid
One of my friends reversed into a police car :-(
Just to clarify, that didn't happen to me but a girl I was at college with many moons ago
I was advised to take a couple of Kalms before my test, and I did, and I was not nervous at all which was pretty good!

Although with mine I was going for a job I was desperate for at the same kind of time, so concentrated more on that as my test I could take again, but I wouldnt get the chance to go for the job again. I passed first time :-)

Description: Driving Test
I often see people doing lesons or tests down my road.

Is it a fail if you hit the kerb when doing a 3 (or more in many cases) point turn? and if you do have to do more than three points?
Keep to the right side of the road, and don't have more than one brandy beforehand to steady your nerves.
congrats.
I passed my test in an automatic in 1974, driven autos ever since, never once then or since did I hit the wrong pedal, there are only 2 and it's so simple,
Pay ayyention to cyclists and potentional hazards, your attention to them will be noted.
I passed on the first attempt. A miracle really , cos I don't think I deserved a pass. However I was 8 months' pregnant and could hardly get behind the wheel. I think the examiner thought if he failed me, I might give birth there and then.

I do think it's harder these days - all this theory & stuff.
I 'failed' my first test before I even got in the car. I was in military uniform and went to the test centre. The examiners started calling peoples names out........Mr this, Mrs that etc and I was the last to be called. I was barked at with him just using my surname even though my rank badges were visible. I told the guy he was out of order.....I never had a chance.
