PR, purpetual parallysis?

We can't get a majority under FPTP so what chance would we have under PR. The Libdems may desire PR but should either of the main parties concede it and sentence the country to purpetual parallysis?
Secondly by demanding PR the Libdems are putting party before nation, do we want people like that anywhere near government?

Not that I'm in favour - I'm still undecided - I just think your arguments are poor.

The argument of the minority parties getting a disproportionate voice is a much better argument

So the present system where Northern Ireland will be spared £200 million in cuts (which means the rest of us face bigger cuts) as a bribe for the DUP to support the Conservatives, is a better system?

At least a form of PR would ensure everbody's vote would have some effect on the make up of Parliament.

The UK hasn't had a government elected by the majority vote since 1931 when the Tories got 55% of the total votes. Since then we have been ruled by goverments voted in by the minority. PR would encourage more people to use their vote if they new it would count.

Incidentally, I love the Tories steadfastly clinging to FPTP throughout this campaign. Under that system, they've failed to get a majority and they still want to form the government. They should call it First Near The Post.
