Grandfather clock

My friend has a grandfather clock and on the face it says Groom Wellington. We are not sure if this is the maker or the retailer, but we cannot find any information. Has anyone any information that would help us to trace the origins of this clock please

Hello there,
I have "Googled" for you,but can't find much.
However,a small bit of information.
I think the maker of your clock is Groom,and the Wellington refers to either
Wellington,Somerset
OR
Wellington,Shropshire.
I hope this may be of help.

Thanks Mr Veritas. I have tried Wellington, Shropshire but not the Somerset one. However your link to BHI looks promising, so I will try that.
