Just wanted to share this.
Mum in law lives in sheltered accommodation with a host of 60 70 80 &90 year olds.
About 3am she was woken by a commotion outside and it turns out the old lady in the flat next door had been burgled. I can only assume that she must have been terrified by these ******** in her home in the middle of the night. The plod turned up asked a few questions and left.
We went round at 12pm and went to have a look on the field next to the complex. We found the poor woman's bag with all her purse and stuff strewn all over. We carefully put it all back, brought it home and rang the station. Great ,they said,we will get someone to come and collect it for evidence.
It is now nearly 9pm and we still have the bag.
In the meantime, the crims are probably having a good laugh at "getting away with it" and planning the next one.Are the police useless or what?

i hope you put the items in sealed plastic see thru bags with clearly written details on their location in relation to the SOC and also photographed them on the ground before you picked them up (wilst wearing plastic gloves) with a ruler next to each item and a clear number set to the side to identify each individual piece of evidence, if they want us to do their job for them we must always ensure we get it right. : ) Ring your local paper too, and they will make a good feature out of it.

I can't understand why you aren't railing against the thieving toerags.

I have an idea.
If I put the bag in my car and go zooming round the local roads until i get stopped for speeding i can hand it over to them. Then tomorrow they came come and arrest me because my prints are all over it
CSI rock on !
It's a while ago now but my son had his motor bike pinched from our back garden, it was chained down to metal rings sunk into concrete. We knew who had stolen it because the thief was well known in the neighbourhood and he would ride up and down on the bike in front of our house showing off. We reported him to the police, but nothing was done as this lad came from a very rough area and the police were reluctant to go there. My son never got his bike back but about a year later the thief who had gone on to more serious crimes died of a drug overdose. Poetic justice eh???
anyone on here who is also on my facebook friends list will be able to see my niece is a police officer, i have to say, nothing seems to be weighing on her shoulders, it confuses me greatly.
