This woman is a joke, isn't it time for her to go?
Perhaps women should not be employed in these high power jobs. I know I am treading on dodgy ground in these days of equal opportunities, but let's face facts, females tend to apply a much softer approach to matters than the male. Apart from a few women such as the iron fist Mrs Thatcher, there are few of her kind (some may say good, but if nothing else she was strong and committed).
Perhaps it is because of the softy, softy approach that some sections of the community (the knife wielding gangs) are on the increase in our society.
Some are brought up in a one parent, (in most cases by the female) family enviroment.
Then during their period at school they are taught generally by females.
By the time they have come to around school leaving age, they have had very little contact with older males, concequently if they are given a chance to join a gang, they are only too happy to, they then have to prove themselves.
But don't worry if they go off the rails, there is always some female willing to feel sorry, make excuses for them, or operate the softly,softy approach, be it social worker, lady magistrate, or our Home Secretary.
Even a said Dr Judith Aldridge stated recently "It is wrong to assume Gang members are all criminals" excuses, excuses.

What these young thugs need is stong disipline, meeted out by the male of the species.
That is why I think that the only way to break up this general decline in our society, is to bring back National Service. There will be no female drill instructers on the parade ground. Male D.I.s will soon whip them into shape, they will wonder what hit them.
Another advantage of National Service, is that it will take them away from their home enviroment and break up the gangs.

they should not employ women in these high profile jobs,you only have to look at what thatcher did to once great britain,we need hard laws to deter knife wielding thugs,not a visit to the hospital so they can admire their ''handywork''..and what about some poor knife victim lying in a hospital bed possibly on deaths door being viewed at as if they are on a butchers slab....and can you imagine these thugs being put in for national service and then facing the taliban in afghanistan?the little b***ards would s**t themselves.............

I agree with national service and not as a punishment as you have said, I would like to see it as an option, some youngsters may welcome it befor they go down the slipy road of thugery. I also agree they would benifit from strong male disipline. My two boys are in the RAF and they have both done tours of duty , one just arriving back last week they have a good meaningfull life, it is hard but it has opened there eyes in many ways.

I can not see an end unless we get firmer

AOG. While I agree with your sentiments , National Service for these thugs wouldn't work. Firstly the military is too professional now and couldn't afford to waste time and money on someone who had no interest. Secondly, would you like to share a trench with one of these scum when the chips are down? I wouldn't and neither would you.

The prison system in this country could easily be adapted to deal with this and we should start by building more purpose built prisons for these young offenders and a adopt a zero tolerance towards knife and gun carrying.

The reason why kids grow up well in functional families is because the father provides the masculinity and the mother provides the caring and feminine side both balancing off each other. If you remove the mother the child only learns the aggressive side and the childs personality suffers.

I think everyone in Government is useless, especially mr Gordon Brown. Let me go into rant mode lol. While he was counseller of ecquescer (whatever it is) he knew we would have credit crunch and inflation. He knew it and yet didnt tell anyone it was going to happen. Now he has to clear his poop up, and he needs to sort it out himself, not to rely on someone else to wipe his own arse. Jackie Smith is a dozey bitch anyway, she told us that knife crime isnt getting worse, and yet look at it. Starck raving mad are bloody politicians, they're all as bloody useless as each other, fire them all!

People seem to think that poloticians are some sort of special breed, they are not, they are just "ordinairy" people who chose to go into politics.
If you think YOU could do a better job then get yourself elected or form a new political party and get them elected.

I don't think it's fair on our service girls and boys to be lumbered with the thugs, but a military-type discipline for wayward youngsers certainly wouldn't go amiss - and yes, perhaps they could be sent onto the front line in Afghanistan, to prepare the way for the REAL men and women.

If I was lying in a hospital bed recovering from a stab wound, the last thing I'd want would be some slack-jawed hoodie gawping at me, probably thinking my wounds were "cool" and looking forward to seeing if he could do better on some poor unsuspecting soul when his "punishment" finishes. What a ridiculous idea that was.
