I know that both are very dangerous to my health, but which is more likely to kill me first: drinking alcohol to excess or smoking cigarettes to excess?

Liver cancer or liver disease would get you first but that doesn't condone you to do one or the other.
drinking is more likely to get you as under its influence, you are more likely to burn the house down, step out in front of a car etc...of course if you smoke as well then you are WAY more likely to burn the house down, ask any fireman.
drinking alcohol to excess, then smoking. You fall asleep pi$$ed with a ciggarette in your hand and then burn the house down.
kjring...did we cross post and are you a talking sword??
I would say drinking as a heavy nights drinking could kill you then and there - much less likely to happen when smoking!
I agree with 5029.A relative who used to work in the ambulance service said that choking during sleep/unconciousness after a heavy drinking session led to more deaths than you might imagine.
It'll be the stress thinking about which one will get you first, which will get you first. Chill out - have a drink. Maybe a nice cigar...
EITHER!
I don't know but smoking gives you wrinkles and drinking gives you broken veins and bloats you. Either way your going to be a terrible looking corpse!
you can die more or less instantly from alcohol poisoning and if you drink sprits it would not take that much for a small person not used to drinking much, more difficult for a fat alcoholic. no such equivalant exists for smoking cigarettes. i don't suggest trying it though.
Stay with the booze and drink plenty of it. You wouldn't care to much then what you snuff it of.
