Can anyone recommend an exotic, luxurious and hot location for a Christmas break? I am veering towards the Caribbean but am open to suggestions.

I'm off to Tunisia for Xmas ... not been before
Martinique?, Bermuda? and how about the Seychelles? as good as the Caribbean anyday.
I went to the Maldives several years ago and stayed on Kurumba island. See their website www.kurumba.com. We had a private bungalow on the beach. It was fully inclusive ( one hotel per island usually), the steaks were expensive, but the fish was much cheaper, as they catch it fresh on the island daily. The island was gorgeous, and the beach was beautiful. We walked out around half a mile from shore with water up to our knees, then snorkelled up to the reef which is a spectacular site!
We've been to Mexico for the last 5 Xmas's and we love it. We normally go to the Caribbean side owing to flight time etc. We always go all-inclusive. They all celebrate Xmas, but make more of Xmas eve. It is pretty much orientated towards the Americans, but who cares. We actually met someone who lives 5 miles from us in Staines and also someone else about 5 miles away about 2 years later. It was good fun when we were back to keep in touch. There is nearly always a Gala Dinner where you can dress up, but who wants to when it's 80 degrees and sunny? This year we are going back to Riviera Maya. I can recommend Iberostar or Riu for hotels, and I have found that First Choice is the best for long haul.
Having said that, just go. It's really funny to listen to carols and christmas songs when you are wearing shorts and T shirts.
Have a great time and merry christmas. Margaret
