Hi all. Come to pick your brains.

I used to make this years ago. Went on-line to refresh my memory. My problem is half the recipes suggest 1.5-2 teaspoons of spice and half suggest 1.5-2 tablespoons.

I'm trying all-spice if that makes a difference. If I had to guess I'd go the teaspoon route. What say you? Thank-you.

I wouldn't use Allspice, that is a powder of one particular berry. Use mixed spice if you have it, it has all that you would need for a bread pudding.

I meant to get mixed spice. Just checked, I got all-spice. I presumed it meant the same thing. ☹ I know better now, don't I. Cheers, Rocky.

It'll have an 'interesting' taste if you use the Allspice 😁

Lucky I had to come on here. Imagine spending all that time making/cooking/looking forward to it and then...🤢

You dont have to add spices, have a test run with a small one and see how it turns out.

Now what to do with the allspice? (I should really know all this what with my name an all)

definitely teaspoons.  We only use nutmeg.

...and grated orange peel...and rum :-)

Never thought of a little booze.🤣

Allspice could blow yourbrains out Spicy.

Quite piquant and used in Caribbean currys etc.
