Does any lovely person on here know if I will automatically be issued with my new one in these uncertain times? I hope so, or I don't know what I'll do about money. Very worrying.

contact your bank or go to one if you can't get through.
i can't remember if they send you a new one automatically. someone on here will know..
take care
What bank are you with?

I wouldn't worry. There are amazing online processes these days. They'll be able to sort you out and get you a new card through the post in no time.
Again I can't see any reason why not.
Usually your debit card will automatically arrive at least 1 week before the existing card. But it comes down to factors, such as which bank are you with?

Natwest say.. "if you haven't used your card for a period of at least 13 months prior to expiry, we don't automatically replace your card"
I wouldn't even contact my bank to check- they are probably inundated with much more pressing queries
FF the bank should help any customers with their queries.
Mine has always been renewed without my prompting.
>FF the bank should help any customers with their queries.
Yes, but as customers we should (as Martin Lewis said) show forebearance. Every time we call with a smallish query we are pushing someone with a bigger query back in the queue. Of course it's your call though
^^^mine's always renewed automatically, usually 3 or 4 weeks before expiry of the current one.
You know what? If this morning's anything to go by it's going to be a loooong few weeks.

Still, immediate workmates are getting a break from it.
Most banks will have a tracking mechanism for the debit cards they have issued to their customers and will therefore be aware of when the cards are due to expire. They will then be renewed automatically.

It's my first debit card, I always used a credit card before, but was informed that a debit card is better. My credit card was always automatically renewed just before it ran out and I assume the same for a debit card. Obviously though because of the present situation, I worried this may not happen. I could ring my bank, but goodness only knows how long it will take to get through. Thanks for answers.

This is a big query for me fiction, I don't want to be without money!
"Obviously though because of the present situation, I worried this may not happen"

AFAIK, banks are not being affected and neither is delivery. I would wait until a week before card runs out.

If you haven't received card, report yours as lost or stolen and they will send you a new one, with a longer expiry date.

Don't worry, iluvmargie. It'll be OK

Thank you TheDevil, I do hope so x
it will be re issued automatically, fear not!
I'd argue that a debit card is not better....just different. (I only use my debit card at a cash-machine....otherwise, credit card and pay the balance off every month - so no interest charges).
Deibit card is the one to use at ATMs.
Debit card is good for anyone who doesn't want to have "credit".

For example, my Miss has a credit card, because she has self controll.

I don't have a credit card, because I have little self controll.

We only use credit card for big payments like a fridge freezer.
I got my new one as usual in yesterday’s post, try not to worry
I just noticed... Welcome to AB iluvmargie!
