That hands out religious tracts in the town centre...
He believes that one day I shall be saved.
He's never explained to me what 'been saved' actually means.
To be fair, he has problems with his schizophrenia but that aside, how can any sane individual think that we need to be saved from an eternal, unimaginably grotesque, torture and then proceed to worship the being that would send us there in the first place?

My friend has mental health issues....just makes me wonder if believers have too!
(Especially if they can hold that world view too)

Stockholm syndrome?
I believe in god and have never been diagnosed with mental health issues. Make of that what you will.
Repetitive Strain
I find it awful sad that an unbeliever feels so motivated to come on here and trash the beliefs of believers?

Why not simply ignore the believers, and go elsewhere to vent your spleen.

A bit sad really.
Maybe you should reflect on your own mental health issues Nailit before condemning the whole of Christendom to the looney bin!

Kettle pot and black!
Theland....why do you keep asking Atheists questions?

Done that!

Not trashing their beliefs, but trying to "save" them from governing their lives by a load of baloney.
Theland, I don't think that Nailit was venting spleen. You shouldn't react so badly to someone who has different views from yours. Perhaps you could respond to his question about the motives and character of 'god', without getting in a state about it. Perhaps Nailit has hopes that one day he might enlighten you to the true nature of life; surely that is a laudable aim, even if you disagree.
Pretty boring if we didn't, Polly!! How will we ever learn if we don't ask questions?
Are we all happy,in our skin?
Apparently not!
Some wish to cause us problems.
Live and let live? Hopefully :-)
If you are asking if it is possible that some people who have religious beliefs could be mentally unstable then the answer must be yes.

As could some atheists, bakers, fork lift truck drivers, teachers............
Anyway, it's not really a world view is it? More a next world view.

See, now I'm getting dragged into this never-ending merrygoround of drivel dressed up as fresh debate.

No offence. :-)
Not taking the bait. Out of here. Never an intelligent post just stirring it up.
Goodbye to this thread.
Sorry Ummmm you've completely lost me there...………

I'm sorry that you have to take pleasure from 'stirring', Theland. Life has more to offer than winding people up. Try being open and generous sometime. Best wishes.

Well is wasn't compulsory to begin with!
Wise decision Theland. The OP is basically winding you up IMHO, best course of action is to ignore.
